Lisa Fuerst has extensive experience as both general counsel and litigator for condominium associations, property owners associations, and homeowners associations throughout metropolitan Atlanta and north Georgia. For more than seven years, Lisa has worked closely with community association board members to help them understand their responsibilities under the association’s governing documents, and has provided advice regarding all phases of covenant enforcement and corporate governance. Lisa has also served community associations as a collections litigator, working to develop successful, cost effective collection strategies, and been a pioneer in assisting community associations to foreclose their liens. Lisa has earned respect for her skills in facilitating the reasonable resolution of conflicts between neighbors and serving as an advocate for clients when negotiations fail.
Lisa has appeared before Superior, State and Municipal courts throughout the metropolitan Atlanta area for the past fifteen years. A former criminal defense lawyer, she brings a unique perspective to helping community associations resolve issues with problem owners. She has written articles published in Georgia Commons, a publication of the Community Associations Institute, and is a certified instructor by the Georgia Real Estate Commission. Lisa is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Virginia State Bar, and the Community Associations Institute of Georgia, serving on its Programming Committee. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Letokek of Georgia. She earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Economics from The College of William and Mary in Virginia and her law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.
