Laura Horlock began her legal career in civil litigation in Atlanta in 1991. Her focus throughout has been on community association law and litigation, creditors’ rights and collection law, and real estate based litigation. Over her two decades of practice she has gained broad experience and skill in collection and real estate based litigation through her representation of community associations, banks, mortgage lenders, and small businesses, as well as broad experience in both federal and state courts. Laura represents a large number of community associations in metropolitan Atlanta, both big and small, providing the full array of legal services for the associations. Her litigation experience is broad and varied in areas including mortgage fraud, real estate title disputes, construction defects, employment discrimination, and personal injury, giving her a broad and encompassing perspective when representing community associations in litigation.
Laura is active in the community, serving on the Board of the Directors and as an officier of her local elementary school and middle school parent and charter organizations, and as a Director of the Murphey Candler Girls Softball Association. She has served on Board of Directors and played a very active role for the Junior League of DeKalb County and for the International Women's House, a shelter for battered immigrant women and their children. Ms. Horlock also served on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the DeKalb Bar Association.
A lifelong resident of DeKalb County, Georgia, Laura earned a Bachelors of Business Administration degree, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Georgia and her law degree, Cum Laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law.
